Security cameras can do more than guard a home. They can confirm that the kids got in at the right time, let you look in on pets while you are away, and help you check out a strange noise at night without leaving bed. A new round of Eufy discounts puts several such options within easier reach.

The headline deal is the Eufy Security Wall Light Cam S4, now $80 off at $170. Wired's reviewer, who says they have tested a great many security cameras, installed one beside a back gate. It works as a modern, motion-activated wall light suited to a driveway, porch or gate, and the reviewer says it has ended stubbed toes during late-night trips with the trash.

Inside the fixture is a 4K camera that swivels to find the right angle and gives a wide, crisp view. Footage is saved locally on 32 GB of built-in storage, and there is no subscription, including for the on-device AI that tells people, vehicles and pets apart. Setup is described as quick, and the unit connects straight to Wi-Fi, so the chosen spot needs a decent signal.

A solar panel sits on top of the unit to keep the battery charged, and it can be detached and placed where it gets more sun. Despite a busy location, the reviewer's camera has stayed charged for the past couple of months, though they suspect winter may change that.

The wall light features are the reviewer's favorite part. Brightness and color temperature can be adjusted, and the light can run only during set hours or from sunset to sunrise based on location. The reviewer also likes that it does not look like an outdoor security camera and is noticeable only on close inspection.

There are drawbacks. The camera records at just 15 frames per second, so fast-moving subjects can look blurry, especially in the dark, although the light helps. Some owners will need to recharge the battery occasionally, so it should be mounted within reach. The reviewer also considers the original $250 price too high, but says the $170 sale price makes that less of a concern.

Two other Eufy products are discounted as well. The indoor Eufy S350, a dual-lens camera with automatic tracking that suits checking on a cat or dog, is $40 off at $100. It often falls to that price, and the reviewer predicts it could drop another $20 around Black Friday for those willing to wait.

The EufyCam C35 2-Cam Kit is $70 off at $130. The cameras work indoors or outdoors with an easy magnetic mount, and the kit includes a HomeBase Mini for local recording and onboard AI that features facial recognition. The reviewer notes the discount is a common one, but still calls it a great price for a two-camera kit with a hub.
